Caccialanza Milano wins the first edition of the Italian Cup for Clubs, an innovative event included this year by the Italian Bocce Federation in the category of federal events. Twelve teams at the starting line: the first four of the 2021 Serie A, the four winners of the respective rounds of the A2 2021 championship and the first four classified of the First Category Club Promotion Championship. The Italian champions, therefore, hit a valuable double, beating in the very final the surprise Civitanovese, a newly promoted team in the top national series after winning, last June, also the playoff round against the ‘cousins’ of the Castelfidardo. The final, played at the Federal Technical Center in Rome, had no history. The gap between the Marche team and the Lombard team is too wide, which in this sporting season, between the regular season, the final four scudetto and the Italian Cup for Clubs, won fifteen matches, drawing twice and losing only one match (in the third of the championship for an unbeaten run that has lasted for fifteen games). Caccialanza Milano had reached the final, overcoming the Sardinians of Galligel Sestu with two 5-3 and, in the semifinal, the vice-champions of Italy of Boville Marino. The Civitanovese, on the other hand, had beaten the Italian First Category champions 5-0, the Marche ‘cousins’ of the Serra de’ Conti, 5-2 the Possaccio and, in the semifinal, the bells of the Santa Chiara Le Delizie. In the very final, 5-1 the final result and tip of the scales always shifted in favor of MP Filtri with the double success of the individualist Luca Viscusi on Fernando Rosati (8-6, 8-2) and the double victory of the triad composed by Mirko Savoretti, Marco Luraghi and Paolo Luraghi on Giuseppe Chiarastella, Luca Sabbatini and Giovanni Torresi (8-5, 8-1). After the rest, Giuseppe Chiarastella and Luca Sabbatini ‘score’ the only point of the Marche, winning 8-1 against Paolo Luraghi and Mirko Savoretti, ahead 6-0 in the second set, when on the other lane (Marco Luraghi – Luca Viscusi against Fernando Rosati – Francesco Tosoni), at the end of a hard-fought and balanced match, it is Marco Luraghi who gives the point that is worth the victory of the Italian Cup for Clubs with a millimeter rejected at twenty-seven meters, which is worth the 8-7 of the fifth and decisive set. “It was a first edition, even an experimental one, of the Italian Cup for Clubs – the comment of the federal president Marco Giunio De Sanctis-. Many good ideas, but also something to review, such as, for example, a draw with the top seeds to reward the clubs according to a hierarchy dictated by the results of the sporting season. The balance of this spectacular event, which pitted twelve teams from Raffa’s first three championships against each other, was all in all positive. The only negative note, the scarce presence of spectators, which must make us reflect for future events at the Federal Technical Center, considering that these are events that deserve a large audience frame. The congratulations go to the winners of Caccialanza, the club that is confirmed as the strongest of this season, but also to Civitanovese, surprise this weekend. “” The Italian Bocce Federation is preparing to live the last two weeks of this intense season, before of the Christmas holidays – concluded De Sanctis – In Terni the first sixteen athletes and the first six athletes will compete for the male and female Master of the Raffa in a kermesse with an experimental formula. As happens in tennis and according to an innovative concept, in fact, it will be played on a single lane, from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 December, and all matches will be broadcast in live streaming. Each match will be played with a double set to eight points with shots on the jack in the event of a tie. On the 17th and 18th of December, however, we will be in Fano, where we will hold the Federal Council, the Council of Regional Presidents and the MB FIB Award, the celebratory moment that this year crosses the milestone of 40 years. Again from 17 to 19 December, in Trevi, the competitive season will close with the Italian Paralympic Sitting and Standing Bowls Championships. “Meanwhile, the Italian national team of Boccia Paralympic (the discipline practiced by severely and severely disabled people), supported by the sponsor BMW Especially , is fresh from the European Paralympic Boccia Championships, held in Seville. Italy nearly entered the matches that would have given the podium to both Diego Gilli (BC1 category) and Mirco Garavaglia (BC3).
