Sir Frank Williams died, he was 79 years old

Sir Frank Williams is dead. The founder and long-time team principal of the Williams team was 79 years old. Williams, hospitalized yesterday, passed away this morning. Williams – since 1986 confined to a wheelchair after a spinal cord injury in an accident – has led the team, one of the most glorious in Formula 1, to the conquest of 9 Constructors ‘World Championships and 7 Drivers’ World Championships, with the golden age concentrated between the 80s and 90s. Williams’ daughter Claire had sanctioned her farewell to Formula 1 by selling the team in September 2020 to an American consortium.
