Atp Finals, injury for Berrettini: he retires against Zverev

Matteo Berrettini’s run-up to the ATP finals ends in tears. The Italian tennis player, one set behind (7-6, 1-0), retired with an injury at the start of the second set of the march against Alexander Zverev. The 24-year-old from Rome suffered a pain in his back in the second game and the match was suspended to allow for a doctor’s intervention. Despite the attempt to resume the game, Berrettini had to throw in the towel and withdraw from the match.
