Motonautica, Carli wins the 69th edition of the Pavia-Venice Raid

Gianluca Carli won the 69th edition of the Pavia-Venice Motorboat Raid. 92 years after the success of Ettore Negri in the debut race of 6 June 1929, Carli imposed himself by completing the track in just over 6 hours for one of the historic races in the world of powerboating, organized by the Pavia Motorboat Association (which for the occasion signed an agreement with the Toscano Racing Team, a car racing team), in collaboration with the Venice Motorboat Association and under the aegis of the Italian Motorboat Federation. Second place in the overall standings for Paolo Romagnoli, while the third step of the podium was occupied by the couple Lorenzo Bacchi-Andrea Bacchi, who thus won the bronze medal. Carli also won the “Teo Rossi di Montelera Cup”, awarded to the competitor who in the 55 km timed section “Revere-Pontelagoscuro” reached the highest average speed, ahead of Paolo Romagnoli and Alberto Huober. Finally, Romagnoli won the “Raid Classic Trophy”, reserved for historic racing boats built before 1990. Mauro Balzarini and Jean Charles Schmitt complete the category podium. Great emotions and spectacular passages throughout the course, for a competition that had been missing for 10 years and which again ignited the hearts of enthusiasts (with the participation of the former skier Kristian Ghedina), before the final award ceremony which was held in the historic Arsenale of Venice, in the presence of the Mayor Luigi Brugnaro, covering the prestigious role of closing event of the Venice Boat Show. The entry into the Darsena of the boats and crews who participated in the Raid was greeted by the sound of trumpets and sirens from all the exhibitors present who wanted to pay homage to such a historic event (and to those who participated) as Raid Pavia-Venice.
