Asi for Catania, fundraising in support of sports associations affected by the storm

Asi, Italian Sports and Social Associations, following the disastrous flood in the Catania area, decided to launch a fundraiser in favor of the affiliated sports associations of the area which, at the dawn of a slow and tiring restart, were again overwhelmed by a violent event and destabilizing. “Sport is a community that recognizes itself in the values ​​of solidarity. For this reason, the central structure of ASI could not remain insensitive to the problems of the sports associations of the affected municipalities: a world literally exhausted by the pandemic emergency must, once again, roll up its sleeves. This is why we have decided to launch a fundraiser that will involve all our associates, from Valle d’Aosta to Sicily itself ”, explained the President of Asi, Sen. Claudio Barbaro. The storm that struck Catania had very heavy consequences: flooded streets, the central Via Etnea transformed into a real river in flood. Even the sports associations of the area, already affected by a year and a half of emergency, have suffered serious damage to their structures: uninhabitable due to flooding, electrical systems failures, infiltrations, damage to machinery and capital goods to equipment, parquet and tatami mats. . In the face of these events, the ASI community (and not only) is called upon to gather to support a part of its base, which at this moment needs the support of all of us.
