“I believe that the whole of 2022 will pass before we forget about Coronavirus all over the world. In Italy when we have 3/4 of the population vaccinated with the double dose we will be safe”. This was stated by the Undersecretary of Health, Pierpaolo Sileri speaking on the broadcast ‘A sheep’s day’ on Radio Rai where he recalled that “everything is falling, from hospitalizations to intensive care, the number of deaths”. Regarding the possible increase in infections due to reopening, Sileri explained that he was “more concerned about other situations, for example by gatherings outside the premises in young subjects and by the reluctance to vaccinate among younger subjects”. But can two unvaccinated subjects kiss each other? “As a doctor I should say no, because contagion is more likely. But I say, honestly, let’s take our life back, I don’t think that kissing requires extracting the ‘green pass'”, he said. Sileri then spoke on the controversy surrounding the limit of 4 seats at the table in the restaurant: “I am among those who were for the increase in seats at the table, between 8 and 10, from the beginning of July I would liberalize because the vaccinated will be further increased”. Finally, on the groups that can meet at home to see Euro2021 a tip: “It is strongly recommended to be vaccinated, even with the first dose”.
