Girls run over and killed in Rome, Genovese returns free

Pietro Genovese, who on the night between 21 and 22 December 2019 in Corso Francia in Rome hit and killed the two sixteen-year-old students Gaia Von Freymann and Camilla Romagnoli, returns free. This is what the judges of the Court of Appeal of Rome ordered after the sentence became final. Genovese, who after the house arrest had been subjected to the measure of the residence obligation, will now have to wait for the decision of the Supervisory Court which will establish how to serve the residual sentence of about 3 years and 7 months. Last July, Genovese, accused of multiple road homicides, agreed a sentence of five years and four months on appeal.
