Administrative elections 2021, polls open until 11pm

The polls are open from 7 am to 11 pm today Sunday 17 October for the run-off in the municipal 2021. There will also be a vote tomorrow, from 7 am to 3 pm, to choose the mayors of 65 municipalities, including 10 provincial capitals. The most anticipated challenges are those of Rome and Turin, but citizens are also asked to choose in Trieste, Benevento, Caserta, Cosenza, Isernia, Latina, Savona and Varese. The second round of elections will involve about 5 million voters. The voting operations will start from 3 pm on Monday 18 October. To vote, you must bring your electoral card and an identity document. Passport, driving license, pension booklet and firearms license are also valid. It will not be necessary to have the Green Pass even if compliance with anti-Covid regulations will be required. In Rome, Enrico Michetti, candidate of the center-right, and Roberto Gualtieri for the center-left compete for the seat of mayor. The first will go to vote on Sunday at 10 at the polling station in via Giovanni De Calvi, in Monteverde. Gualtieri will go to the 1427 seat of the Federico Caffè institute in Turin at 11 to compete for the position of mayor of the city Stefano Lo Russo of the center-left and Paolo Damilano of the center-right. While in Trieste Roberto Dipiazza will face each other for the center-right, leading in the first round, and Francesco Russo for the center-left. “In Trieste, the former regional secretary of Forza Nuova would enter the Council if Di Piazza prevailed in the ballot”, the secretary of the Democratic Party, Enrico Letta, tweeted in recent days. “He would remain out if Francesco Russo wins instead.
