The Italian Medicines Agency (Aifa) has authorized the use of the Pfizer-BionTech covid vaccine for 12-15 year olds. According to the CTS, a note reads, “the available data demonstrate the efficacy and safety of the vaccine even for subjects included in this age group.” Last week the green light came from the EMA, the agency European drug. There will be two doses, with the second dose administered 21 days after the first. “The vaccine response in 12-15 year olds is like that of adults or better,” explained the European body. This is the first Covid vaccine approved for children and young people of this age group in the EU.
