National Festival of Civil Economy, the third edition in Florence from 24 to 26 September 2021

“In search of meaning. People, work, relationships” is the theme of the third edition of the National Festival of Civil Economy, which will be held in Florence from 24 to 26 September next. This will be the occasion – after the long period marked by the pandemic and the deepest economic and social crisis of the second post-war period – to re-read facts and events in the light of the dictates of the Civil Economy. Inspired by criteria of reciprocity, solidarity, gratuity and – as the title of this new edition states – in search of fullness and meaning of life. And, above all, of a new possible paradigm of development, which appears no longer to be postponed. In the prestigious setting of the Sala dei Cinquecento in Palazzo Vecchio, institutional exponents from the academic, economic, entrepreneurial and social world will discuss above all the post-pandemic recovery path identified by the Next Generation Eu and the Italian Pnrr and the 3 axes shared at European level: digitization and innovation, ecological transition, social inclusion. In the three days of work, through thematic panels and moments of public discussion, we will focus in particular on how the dictates of the Civil Economy and the concrete experiences already consolidated in many territories (thanks to particularly attentive public administrations, as present every year in Florence) can contribute to an inclusive and genuinely sustainable development based on the six major missions on which the enormous resources made available by the European Union will be concentrated: 1. Digitization, innovation and competitiveness of the production system, 2. Green revolution and ecological transition , 3. Infrastructures for mobility, 4. Education, training, research and culture, 5. Social, gender and territorial equity, 6. Health highlighting how the logic of Civil Economy is essential for a sustainable recovery of the Italian economic and social system . Born from an idea of Federcasse (the National Association of Cooperative Credit Banks , Casse Rurali, Casse Raiffeisen) which promotes it together with Confcooperative, organized and designed with NeXt (New Economy For All) and Sec (School of Civil Economy) and with the contribution of Fondosviluppo, the National Festival of Civil Economy has now accredited as an event of particular interest on issues that place man, his value as an individual, the common good at the center. The two previous editions of the Festival were attended, among others, by the then President of the Council Conte; the President of the European Parliament David Sassoli; economists Jeffrey Sachs and Kaushik Basu. The last edition, in September 2020, saw the presence – on the opening day – of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella. The program of the 2021 edition of the National Festival of Civil Economy will be published in the coming weeks on the official website of the Festival www.festivalnazionaleeconomiacivile.it
