Strong explosion in Stromboli, a roar felt throughout the island

A “major” explosion occurred this afternoon on the island of Stromboli, in the Aeolian Islands. The roar was felt throughout the island but there was no damage, only a fall of debris on the top of the volcano. “There has been no damage – underlined the Mayor Marco Giorgianni to Adnkronos – and the situation is constantly monitored”.
