Abruzzo white zone before 7 June. This is what the President of the Region, Marco Marsilio, asks in a letter sent to the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, to ask for Abruzzo’s entry into the lowest covid risk range to be brought forward to next Monday. The request is based on a “significant decrease in pressure on hospitals and related intensive care units, such as to reach a low risk scenario, as confirmed by the control room monitoring data for the period 14-20 May 2021, which denote for Abruzzo an incidence of less than 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants “, explains Marsilio in the letter. Marsilio reminds the minister “of the timeliness and rigor with which decisions with restrictive measures were adopted in Abruzzo as soon as the epidemiological trend showed significant outbreaks of infections”. And precisely for this constant and continuous monitoring, today he asked “to evaluate the possibility of anticipating by a week, in the absence of a changed epidemiological framework, the location of Abruzzo in the” white zone “, currently scheduled to start from Monday 7 June” . In the event that Minister Speranza does not comply with the request to anticipate the new measures for the entire region, Marsilio proposes to “have the ‘white zone’ from 31 May at least for the province of Pescara alone, which has now been consecutively for over a month it has a weekly incidence of infections well below the threshold of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants “.
