Aldo Forbice, journalist and presenter, historical voice of ‘Zapping’ on Rai Radio1, died this morning in Rome at the age of 80. Forbice, who was born in Catania on 23 September 1940, joined Rai in 1969 where he directed the Giornale Radio on Radio3, was editor-in-chief of Tg1, author of several Rai2 programs as well as contributor to newspapers including the ” Come on! ‘,’ Il Mattino ‘,’ Il Messaggero ‘,’ Il Resto del Carlino ‘and’ Il Mondo ‘. He was also deputy director of the Giornale Radio Rai. From 1994 to 2012 he hosted ‘Zapping’ on Radio 1, which in 2008 received the Media Awards as “best radio journalistic program of the year”. Among Forbice’s awards stands out the title of Commander of the Republic which was awarded him in 2005 by the then president Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. Author of numerous essays, committed to human rights, Scissors leaves his wife and two daughters.
