Catania, threatens to set the ex and their child on fire: arrested

He wanted to set the ex and their baby on fire. An 18-year-old was arrested by the carabinieri in Paternò, in the province of Catania, on charges of mistreatment in the family. The military intervened after the girl’s parents asked for help and blocked him while he was going with a bottle of petrol to the home of the ex-partner’s family, also 18 years old. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators of the Arma, the suspect shortly before had suddenly appeared under the house of the girl’s parents, beating his fists against the entrance door and pretending to see their son, born last February, after a coexistence between the two young people of about two years. Faced with the refusal of the family, he went on a rampage screaming “I’ll kill you all, sons of p …” and walked away. The 18-year-old was left and reported last August by his ex, who was beaten while they were at a friend’s house. The girl, taken to the emergency room of the Paternò hospital, had suffered wounds deemed curable in 20 days. Over the next few weeks she began receiving numerous voice messages where the ex threatened to set her on fire along with the baby. Threats that the 18-year-old would have reiterated while the carabinieri took him to the barracks. After the formalities he was taken to prison in Caltanissetta.
