Hunting, pre-openings from today: WWF had asked for a stop

From today 1 September “the shotguns for those hunters of the Regions who have authorized, often illegitimately and always in an unreasonable and wicked way, hunting in ‘pre-opening’ will start up again, pending the ordinary opening of the hunting season on 19 September” . Thus the WWF in a note in which it underlines how “the intense heat wave that has hit Italy and Europe hard should have induced the regional governors to take immediate and drastic measures to mitigate the harmful effects on nature, on agriculture, on areas affected by fires, on wild animals “. For this reason, the “WWF Italy, together with the other environmental and animal welfare associations, had asked the Regions, in particular those most affected by the fires, to suspend hunting to protect the fauna and natural habitats already heavily affected and stressed”.
