Sicily yellow zone, contagion curve continues to grow

Contagions are growing in Sicily, from today 30 August the yellow zone. In the week just ended, according to the data released by the Statistical Office of the Municipality of Palermo and made known by the Civil Protection Department, in fact, the new positives, the hospitalized (ordinary and in intensive care) and the deceased people have increased. In particular, in the week just ended in the island the new positives are 9,307, 2.5 per cent more than the previous one, when an increase of 32.9 per cent had already been recorded. On the other hand, the ratio between positive swabs and swabs performed decreased from 7.8 to 7.3 per cent. The increase in new positives recorded this week is the highest since last January. There are 26,510 people in home isolation (3,838 more than seven days ago), while 914 are hospitalized, of which 108 are in intensive care. Compared to the previous week, they increased by 126 units (ICU patients increased by 24 units). In the week just ended, 72 new admissions to intensive care were registered (60 percent more than 45 the previous week). The number of healed (240,121) increased by 5,248 units compared to the previous week. The percentage of healed out of the total positive is equal to 87.7 percent (88.8 percent last Sunday). The victims in the seven days just ended are 95 (compared to 78 the previous week). Due to some recounts, the provisional number of deaths attributable to the week just ended, however, is equal to 59. Overall, the dead people are 6,314 and the lethality rate (deaths / total positive) is equal to 2.3 percent (2.4 percent last week). The total hospitalized represent 3.3 percent of the current positives (those hospitalized in intensive care 0.4 percent).
