Covid Sicily today, 1,097 infections: August 26th bulletin

In Sicily, which is preparing to pass into the yellow zone from August 30, there are 1,097 new coronavirus infections according to today’s bulletin, August 26, 2021. Another 15 deaths are recorded, bringing the total deaths in the region to 6,274 since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic. Even today Sicily is in first place among the Italian regions for the highest daily increase of new cases. Since yesterday, 17,082 swabs have been performed, the positivity rate drops to 6.4%. The current positives are 26,110 with an increase of another 604 cases. There are 478 healed. On the hospital front there are now 855 hospitalized.
