Israel has registered 10,001 new coronavirus infections, the highest number since mid-January. The data relates to Tuesday, according to data reviewed by the Ministry of Health and published last night, which also report 75,403 active cases throughout the country, with 1,084 people hospitalized, of which 688 are serious and 139 are attached to respirators. Tuesday’s bulletin is worrying in view of the reopening of schools, scheduled for September 1st. Times of Israel points out that in Orthodox communities, where there are fewer vaccinated, most schools reopened on August 9 and in the following two weeks there was a surge in infections. Last week, infections in Elad grew by 78%, in Modin Ilit by 151%, in Bnei Brak by 84%, in Beit Shemesh by 104%, and in Givat Ze’ev they by 134%.
