Covid, Abrignani: “Salivary swabs do not replace vaccination”

“The idea that the salivary swab is better than the vaccine must not be passed on, they are not a substitute for immunization.” To clarify is the immunologist of the State University of Milan and member of the CTS, Sergio Abrignani, guest of ‘Agorà Estate’ on RaiTre, commenting on the hypothesis of using rapid salivary swabs for access as an alternative to the Green pass or for access to school. “The antigenic salivated swabs have limited sensitivity and are useful because they give a result in a few minutes but mitigate the risk and do not eliminate it,” he warns. These tests “make sense when used occasionally and not every day,” concludes Abrignani.
