Camorra, a fugitive from the Mazzarella clan captured in Barcelona

Gennaro Esposito, a 34-year-old Neapolitan, considered a prominent member of the Mazzarella clan, was captured in Spain, in Barcelona. The man, untraceable since July 2020 and the recipient of two measures issued by the Neapolitan judicial authority, is considered seriously responsible for the crime of extortion aggravated by mafia purposes and mafia-type criminal association. The localization by the Carabinieri of the Investigation Unit of the Provincial Command of Naples is part of an articulated investigation that began last November and coordinated by the magistrates of the Naples Public Prosecutor’s Office – District Anti-Mafia Directorate.
