Covid Emilia Romagna, 558 infections: 23 August bulletin

There are 558 coronavirus infections in Emilia Romagna today, 23 August 2021, according to data from the region’s bulletin. Recorded 3 more deaths. The new cases were identified out of a total of 13,217 swabs performed in the last 24 hours.The percentage of new positives on the number of swabs made since yesterday is 4.2%, a value not indicative of the general trend given the number of swabs carried out, which on Sunday is less than on other days. There are 52 patients admitted to intensive care (+5 compared to yesterday), 402 those in the other Covid departments (+17). Of the 558 newly infected, 242 are asymptomatic identified in the context of regional contact tracing and screening activities. Overall, 154 of the new positives were already in isolation at the time of swab execution, 197 were identified within already known foci. The average age of the new positives today is 34.8 years. As for the total people healed, they are 290 more than yesterday and reach 379,393. The active cases, that is the actual patients, to date are 14,732 (+265 compared to yesterday). Of these, people in isolation at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free, are a total of 14,278 (+243), 96.9% of the total number of active cases.
