“Peace perspectives to stop the war”, the event on 7 November in Milan

February 24, 2022, the day Russia launched its military campaign in Ukraine, marked a watershed in world history. That day, even if we didn’t know it yet, marked the beginning of an old and new world at the same time. Old because the hands of time went back to the decades of the Cold War and the atomic threat. New because it is made up of different balances and, in part, of different alliances. “In recent months, too often the war in Ukraine has been told as if it were a football match, where different supporters clashed (and clashed), more interested in the conflict than in finding a solution to it. But you can really go. Going on like this for a long time? Is it really impossible to hypothesize a way to peace? It is starting from these two questions that the event ‘Peace perspectives to stop the war’ was born, which will be held on 7 November at 9 pm at the Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan “, explain the organizers. Eleven guests who will have the opportunity to have their say, in a perspective of peace, each according to their own opinions, experiences and skills, on the conflict that is affecting the heart of Europe. Ten minutes each, without interruption, on the TedX model, so that they can fully express their thoughts and imagine a way to peace. The guests will be (in alphabetical order) Gianni Alemanno, from the Let’s Stop the War committee; Maurizio Belpietro, director of La Verità; Francesco Borgonovo, deputy director of La Verità; Fausto Bertinotti, director of Alternatives for socialism; Toni Capuozzo, journalist and long-time correspondent for Mediaset; Professor Franco Cardini; Peter Gomez, director of ilFattoQuotidiano.it; Marco Lombardi, full professor of the Catholic University of Milan; Gian Micalessin, dean of Italian war journalism and the reporter Daniele Dell’Orco; the voice of Company and Business Executives with Antonio Ieraci, National President of Federmanager Youth. Different perspectives and skills. All aimed at one goal: to find possible solutions to a bloody conflict. Lasted too long.
