Covid today Emilia-Romagna, 555 infections and 3 deaths: bulletin 22 August

There are 555 new coronavirus infections today 22 August 2021 in Emilia-Romagna, according to data from the latest bulletin. There are another 3 deaths. Since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, 406,893 positive cases have been recorded in Emilia-Romagna. The new cases out of a total of 20,219 swabs performed in the last 24 hours. The percentage of new positives on the number of swabs made since yesterday is 2.7%. In total, there have been 13,321 deaths in the region since the beginning of the epidemic. There are 47 patients admitted to intensive care (+1 compared to yesterday), 387 those in the other Covid departments (+11). The average age of new positives today is 35.6 years. Of the 199 asymptomatic, 123 were identified thanks to contact tracing, 2 with serological screening, 28 through tests for risk categories introduced by the Region, 4 with pre-hospitalization tests. The epidemiological investigation is still underway for 42 cases. The contagion situation in the provinces sees Bologna with 138 new cases, then Modena with 91, Rimini (80) and then Reggio Emilia (54) and Parma (49). Followed by Ravenna (46), Ferrara (26), Forlì (25), Piacenza (24) and Cesena (20), finally the New Imola district (2). In the last 24 hours, 6,981 molecular swabs were carried out, for a total of 5,435,080. In addition to these, there are also 13,238 rapid swabs. As for the total number of people healed, they are 279 more than yesterday and reach 379,103. The active cases, that is the actual patients, to date are 14,469 (+273 compared to yesterday). Of these, people in isolation at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free, are 14,035 (+273) overall, 97% of the total number of active cases.
