Covid today Italy, 5,923 infections and 23 deaths: August 22 bulletin

There are 5,923 new coronavirus infections today 22 August 2021 in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health. There are another 23 deaths. The new deaths bring the total number of victims since the beginning of the emergency to 128,751. In the last 24 hours, 175,539 swabs were performed, with a positivity rate rising to 3.3% (yesterday 2.9%). There is an increase in the number of people hospitalized with symptoms that are 3,767 (yesterday 3,733), with an increase of 34 people compared to yesterday while 472 people hospitalized in intensive care (+6 compared to yesterday), with 33 admissions in the last 24 hours. 4,220,924 are cured (+4,382) and 134,938 are currently positive (+1,517).
