Covid Emilia Romagna today, 637 infections and one death: August 20 bulletin

There are 637 new infections from Covid in Emilia-Romagna, out of a total of 23,978 swabs performed in the last 24 hours. This was reported in the bulletin of the Region released today, 20 August. The percentage of new positives on the number of swabs made since yesterday is 2.7%. One death is recorded: a 68-year-old woman from the province of Bologna. In total, there have been 13,316 deaths in the region since the beginning of the epidemic. There are 44 patients admitted to intensive care (-3 compared to yesterday), 373 those in the other Covid departments (-2). Meanwhile, the anti-Covid vaccination campaign continues, extended to all citizens over 12 years of age. At 3 pm a total of 5,593,955 doses were administered; out of the total, 2,556,444 people completed the vaccination cycle. Of the 203 asymptomatic, 115 were identified thanks to contact tracing, 6 with serological screening, 41 through tests for risk categories introduced by the Region, 4 with pre-admission tests. An epidemiological investigation is still ongoing for 37 cases. The contagion situation in the provinces sees Modena with 123 new cases. Then Bologna (117), Rimini (72) and then Reggio Emilia (69). Followed by Parma (67), Ravenna (47), Piacenza (37), Ferrara (34), Forlì (29) and Cesena (27), finally the New Imola district (15). These are the data – ascertained at 12 noon today on the basis of institutional requests – relating to the progress of the epidemic in the region. In the last 24 hours, 9,407 molecular swabs were carried out, for a total of 5,418,948. In addition to these, there are also 14,571 rapid swabs. As for the total number of people healed, they are 351 more than yesterday and reach 378,462. The active cases, that is the actual patients, to date are 13,940 (+285 compared to yesterday). Of these, people in isolation at home, that is, those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free, total 13,523 (+290), 97% of the total number of active cases.
