He discovers a woman trying to steal in a shop and, in order not to report her, he blackmails her asking for money and sexual services. It happened in Cremona. The carabinieri arrested a 53-year-old man, a security guard in a shopping center in the Lombard capital, on charges of extortion, attempted sexual violence and private violence. It all began last August when the victim, after entering a store in the department store, attempted to steal a hair straightener worth 50 euros. She would have tried to leave the shop by going through the exit without purchases, only to be stopped shortly after by the security. Accompanied the woman to a room, out of work and looking for a job, she would have admitted the theft and made herself available to pay for the product so as not to have consequences of a criminal nature. The 53-year-old guard, after allowing her to purchase the plate, allegedly kept a copy of his ID and her phone number. From that moment on the man would have started calling the victim several times, asking her for secluded meetings in which, in addition to asking her for money, he would have her repeat phrases in which he thanked him for his interest in the story of the attempted theft and wished to have a sexual relationship with him.The woman, once back home, would have told everything to her mother who would have advised her to report the whole affair to the carabinieri. The victim went to the police denouncing the blackmail of the alleged tormentor. A few days later, the 53-year-old would call the woman again, telling her that they would have to meet again shortly. On the afternoon of September 21, the woman showed up at the barracks, warning the police that she would have a few hours after an appointment with the man in an isolated place outside the city. The soldiers, dressed in civilian clothes, followed the woman’s car ready to intervene at the right moment. The victim, knowing that the man would turn off her cell phone once she got into her car, hid a second phone under a seat so that he could record the conversations of the entire encounter. The smartphone would have registered the 53-year-old as he asked her for a ‘refund’ of 50 euros and to have sex with her. At this last request, the woman would get out of the vehicle. Once they intervened, the carabinieri stopped the man who, aware of the presence of the military, allegedly tried to get rid of the 50 euro banknote by throwing it into the glove compartment of the car. After reassuring the woman, the police took the 53-year-old to the Cremona prison. The arrest was validated this morning. The carabinieri are making further investigations to ascertain whether the man, in the past, had held similar conduct towards other women.
