Alluvione Marche, Galvagno (Cri): “From shopping to psychological support we help those who have lost everything”

They deliver shopping, water, medicines and provide support, including psychological support, to those who, within half an hour, “have lost everything”. The regional president of Cri Marche, Andrea Galvagno, tells Adnkronos about the commitment of the 291 volunteers working in the Marche region and active since the first hours of the flood. “We involved the committees of Senigallia, Pergola, Cagli, more directly linked to the biggest emergency events – he explains – We carry out psychological, psycho-social support interventions, we have Rescue activities with special vehicles and transport (Smts) and Opsa groups for the rescue in water. The other regional committees are also supported, giving their support in different ways “. The Cri volunteers are at work on several fronts:” At this moment the need is to free the ground floors and the first floors from the mud, access and throw away what has ended up under the water. The situation is dramatic, says Galvagno, because people “lost everything within half an hour”. “I have in my eyes the image of a farmer who had a chicken and hen farm and, in an instant, lost 250 animals – continues the regional president of Cri Marche – There are entrepreneurs who have machinery invaded by water and mud and have to throw all away “.
