Covid Sicily today, 997 infections: 18 August bulletin

There are 997 new coronavirus infections today 18 August 2021 in Sicily, according to data from the latest bulletin. Sicily remains first for contagions. The new cases of positivity recorded in the last 24 hours on 15,038 swabs processed. On the island, the current positives are 19,717. The data is contained in the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health, from which it emerges that in a single day the healed were 1,204. There are 25 deaths, but, the Sicilian Region specifies, only one was registered yesterday, the other 24 are ‘recoveries’ from the previous days. Of the current positives, 621 patients are hospitalized with symptoms, while 80 patients are in intensive care. This is the breakdown of the new cases on a provincial basis: 148 in Palermo, 161 in Catania, 18 in Messina, 174 in Ragusa, 85 in Trapani, 114 in Syracuse, 139 in Caltanissetta, 85 in Agrigento and 73 in Enna.
