There are 97 coronavirus infections in Piedmont today, August 16, 2021, according to data from the region’s bulletin. There have been no deaths since yesterday. The new cases (of which 13 after antigenic tests) are equal to 1.1% of 8,174 swabs performed, of which 6,381 antigenic. Of the 97 infections, 45 are asymptomatic (46.4%). The cases are divided as follows: 22 screenings, 54 case contacts, 21 with ongoing investigation; 3 Rsa / Social-welfare structures. There are 11 hospitalized in intensive care (+ 2 compared to yesterday). Patients not in intensive care are 127 (+ 12 compared to yesterday). There are 3,254 people in home isolation. Of the 11 current hospitalizations in intensive care, 9 concern unvaccinated patients, while another 2 are vaccinated patients but with a serious clinical picture due to previous pathologies. Of the 127 admissions to ordinary therapy, over 70% concern unvaccinated patients. In general, 10% of current patients in ordinary therapy risk an aggravation of their clinical picture with passage to intensive care, and in this case they are all unvaccinated patients. The diagnostic swabs processed so far are 6,172,069 (+ 8,174 compared to yesterday), of which 1,955,048 negative results. A total of 358,073 patients recovered (+ 149 compared to yesterday).
