They were lending money with 65% interest, two arrests

The soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza of the Pisa Group arrested a usurer while, together with an accomplice, he was collecting an interest rate from a small businessman from Cascina. The latter, in 2017, had borrowed from the moneylender an amount of about 90,000 euros, used to overcome a previous liquidity crisis. Against this amount, he had been forced to return, over time, about 240,000 euros, in addition to a large part of the sales proceeds that were collected weekly by the accomplice, in charge of sifting through the entrepreneur’s accounts to subtract further sums. : it has been calculated that, on the whole, interest of up to 65% per annum was paid on the loan. The usurer had thus obtained full control of the private and economic life of the entrepreneur, forcing him to make important personal sacrifices, essential to be able to meet the pressing demands for money.
