He beats disabled uncle and locks him up at home, arrested 25 years old

He would have beaten, even with the help of a stick, his uncle who has severe mental problems. The incident, which took place in Mottola, in the province of Taranto, was ‘captured’ by an internal circuit camera, which the carabinieri of the Massafra company managed to get hold of by identifying a 25-year-old alleged perpetrator of the mistreatment. The latter was arrested. The soldiers of the Mottola station and of the Company have identified the place of the attack. Then they managed to fully identify both the young man, already known to the police, and the victim. The military tracked him down and went with him to the house occupied by him and his uncle, on the first floor of a building, and while checking the various rooms, they came across a closed room. At that point, the carabinieri opened the door and inside the bedroom, they found the young man’s uncle, the very one who was seen in the video being beaten. In particular, the victim, a 57-year-old with mental problems, was kept locked up, without even a bottle of water, without the possibility of being able to even go out to go to the bathroom. Inside the room, the carabinieri found and seized both a small support camera, equipped with wi-fi transmission, and the stick that could be seen in the video and which had been used to beat the disabled person. military verified that the images of the camera in the room were visible live on the cell phone of the 57-year-old cohabiting nephew. The device was confiscated. The victim was rescued by the carabinieri and by a 118 ambulance that took him to the Castellaneta hospital to check his condition. The first treatments ascertained a good state of health and the presence of various bruises on the 57-year-old’s body, who was immediately taken over by the social services of the Municipality of Mottola. The grandson, on the other hand, identified as the alleged perpetrator of the violence portrayed in the video, was taken to the barracks and arrested on charges of family mistreatment and kidnapping, and subsequently locked up in the Taranto prison, awaiting validation by the of the investigating judge of the Court which will be celebrated in the coming days. In the meantime, the Carabinieri of the Massafra Company and of the Mottola Station, coordinated by the Taranto Public Prosecutor’s Office, are deepening their investigations, both on the reasons that would have led the alleged perpetrator to mistreat and beat his uncle, and by tracing and listening to numerous witnesses who were able to view those images, since it would seem that the video, whose realization dates back to a few days ago, was shared among a multitude of people, so much so that it was also spread online and became ‘viral’.
