In Sicily at risk of the yellow zone, a new ordinance signed by the president of the region, Nello Musumeci, arrives with rules and restrictions to contain coronavirus infections. Reconnaissance of the unvaccinated population, fixed vaccination sites in municipalities with less than 60% of vaccinated persons, obligation to use the mask outdoors if in crowded places, prohibition of access to public offices if without a green pass. These are some of the measures to combat the covid-19 pandemic decided by the Sicilian governor. And, again, the obligation of a swab to participate in ceremonies if the vaccination cycle has not been completed and a mandatory swab even for those arriving from the USA. From tomorrow, Saturday 14 August, to 23 August the ‘high risk area’ is established in Rosolini, in the province of Syracuse. “Over ninety percent of those hospitalized in intensive care – Musumeci underlines – concern people who are not vaccinated, very high numbers even in ordinary hospital wards. The protocol for home care, as we had promised, has already been approved by the Technical Scientific Committee, but it is not possible to pretend nothing has happened: it is not possible to think that individual behaviors and lack of controls may be the contributing cause of a decrease in attention. This ordinance identifies adequate protection measures for the limitation of contagion and to encourage ever greater vaccination among all citizens. We could experience a peaceful August 15th and a quiet summer and give security to our fellow citizens. However, we need a greater sense of responsibility on the part of everyone, but above all of that minority that has lost this sense of responsibility “. as regards the census of the unvaccinated population, the ASPs will have to provide general practitioners and peds iatri lists of their clients not yet vaccinated so that health professionals can invite them, individually, to carry out the vaccination. From 16 August, in all municipalities where the percentage of vaccinated is less than 60 percent, the Asp will establish a fixed vaccination site that will be operational until the target of 70 percent vaccinated among residents is reached. Only those in possession of the green pass will be able to physically access public offices, those who are not vaccinated will have to use only the telematic mode. At birthdays, weddings, graduations and private parties you can only participate with a swab carried out in the previous two days, with the exception of those who have completed the vaccination cycle. From 14 to 16 August the mayors will arrange for containment measures such as the ban on bonfires on the beach and gatherings, the obligation to wear masks in particularly popular tourist places. Finally, the ordinance provides for the obligation to swab, in Sicilian ports and airports, even for those arriving from the USA or having passed through it in the previous 14 days. The control is already foreseen for those coming from Malta, Portugal, Spain, France, Greece and the Netherlands.
