A season of great events at the Villa Filippina Park in Palermo, from comic theater to music, from astronomical evenings to political meetings and debates. Two tributes to Franco Battiato, the recently deceased Sicilian singer-songwriter, shows with national comic artists, the Monsù refreshment area with a renewed look and menu, Palermo Pride for the second year and the National Unity Day, for the first time in Palermo which closes the summer season in September. After the success of “Una marina di libri”, for the second consecutive year at Villa Filippina, the Urania association of Marcello Barrale and Lisa Cosentino, which has managed the city park since 2018, is preparing for summer with a rich program in collaboration with numerous partners, including city theaters, entertainment organizations and political actors. And they declare: “We are announcing our fourth season of summer events, kicked off with the first major event ‘Una marina di libri’ and with an extra piece, the new concept of the Monsù dining area – whose name derives from the chefs of the ancient kitchen of the ‘700, the period in which Villa Filippina was born. The public and guests will find a renewed menu with a great variety of pizzas and sandwiches, Sicilian street food, cocktails and beers, wine and soft drinks. All while enjoying a pleasant green space in the heart of the city. The Monsù will be operational and available every summer weekend, with the possibility of organizing any type of event (parties, conferences and anniversaries of all kinds). We want to offer a multifunctional space, increasingly attractive and open to all, welcoming events of great importance and national character, such as the National Unity Day, for the first time in Palermo “. The collaboration with the Teatro Libero is consolidated, which concludes the second summer season at Villa Filippina and the Ditirammu, with entertainment organizations such as Agave Spettacoli, for a varied program that will be staged in the two stages set up in the 10,000 square meters of Villa Filippina: the large stage with 800 seats and the small one with 100 seats adjacent to the Monsù refreshment area.
