Varese, over 7 kg of cocaine ‘to drink’ seized: 3 arrests

The financiers of the Varese provincial command carried out two arrests and seized 7 kg of liquid cocaine at the end of an investigation that made it possible to stop international drug trafficking from South America to Europe. The Malpensa Guardia di Finanza launched the anti-drug operation with the arrest of an Italian passenger from Montevideo (Uruguay), guilty of having introduced into the national territory over 7 kg of liquid cocaine, hidden inside containers of food drinks labeled with coconut oil and agave syrup. Subsequent investigations, carried out under the constant direction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Busto Arsizio, have revealed the existence of a dangerous criminal association responsible for the criminal activity where among the subjects involved there is also a prominent Ecuadorian, already sought in the European context. The investigations of the economic-financial police, explains a note, supported by the analysis of money transfers, the study of telephone records with operational information technology, observations, stalking, technical investigations, as well as the use of drug dogs, made it possible to reveal the communications that occurred through encrypted applications and to carry out a further precautionary custody measure in prison, issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Busto Arsizio at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Busto Arsizio, against a third party Ecuadorian living in the municipality of Milan. The latter was found to be involved in the attempt to organize an import of narcotic substances by acting as a “contact person”, or rather as a reference person in the national territory for the organization. For drug traffickers, turning the “white powder” into liquid cocaine is a simple process, because this drug is highly soluble and can be mixed with other compounds. In liquid form, it can be hidden in various products, such as liquor or wine bottles.
