Two fights in 10 days: the Kursal disco in Ostia closed

After two serious incidents that occurred 10 days later in Ostia, the Rome Police Commissioner decreed the immediate cessation of the illegal activity of the ‘Kursal’ nightclub on Lungomare Lutazio Catulo. The first took place on 2 June, near the place where the police officers of the 10th Lido District of Rome intervened following a report of young people who were being beaten up. Nine people had been reported: three had police records. Four of these, on the other hand, had to seek medical treatment at the Grassi hospital. Two of the people involved had reported that the quarrel had arisen inside the club, where the disco activity was taking place, despite being the place without the required license for dancing and public entertainment. In the second episode, however, which took place on the following 12 June, two people inside the venue, a man and a woman, the first with a police background, were hit in the face by a bottle and a chair and, as a result, , had reported severe wounds healed in 40 and 30 days of prognosis. For both episodes, the reception staff had not called 112 Nue to report the incident and, the video surveillance system, useful for subsequent investigations, was still not working although it had been requested to repair on the occasion of the intervention on 2 June.
