Rome, solicitation of minors: elementary school teacher arrested

An elementary school teacher was arrested in Rome by the police for child solicitation, child pornography and possession of large amounts of child pornography. The investigations began after the mother of a minor victim of solicitation was reported to the Brescia postal police. The suspect’s searches turned out to be extremely laborious as the man, a fifty-year-old of Piedmontese origins, was untraceable for months and was then identified in Rome. During the home and computer search, the agents seized a smartphone in which there were 144 images and videos of a child pornography nature. The analysis of the device also made it possible to reconstruct further enticement conducts towards other young victims with whom the man had sexual video calls. The suspect allegedly recorded video calls with minors in order to preserve the video clips, posing as a young boy thanks to the use of ‘deepfake’ software capable of modifying the somatic aspects of the face. the investigating judge of Brescia ordered the precautionary custody of the teacher, who was immediately transferred to prison. The investigations, conducted by the Postal Police of Brescia, with the support of the Cncpo of the Postal and Communications Police Service of Rome, also involved the Departments of the Postal and Communications Police of Lombardy, Calabria and Lazio, with the coordination of the prosecutors of Brescia and Reggio Calabria.
