Covid Italy, report: net increase in infections in 7 days

Net increase in Covid-19 infections in Italy in 7 days, with an increase in new cases of 32.1% in the week of June 8-14: +160.751 compared to +121.726 the previous week. Deaths are also on the rise, registering an increase of 6.1% (416 vs 392). On the other hand, currently positive cases decreased by 4%, people in home isolation (-4%), while the number of hospitalizations with symptoms decreased by 3.3% (4,199 vs 4,342) and that of patients by 16.4% in intensive care (183 vs 219). This is what emerges from the independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation. In the last week the increase percentage of new cases is recorded in all Regions except Calabria: from + 17.4% in Basilicata to + 91.5% in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano. Compared to the previous week, 8 provinces recorded a percentage reduction in new cases (from -1.3% in Asti to -36.3% in Reggio di Calabria); the provinces in which an increase is recorded rose from 22 to 99 (from + 1.3% in Trapani to + 104.1% of Pordenone). Only the Province of Cagliari records an incidence of more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (532). Although in absolute terms the numbers are small, in the week of June 8-14, the new vaccinated against Covid-19 date back to Italy: 3,211 compared to 2,510 in the previous week (+ 27.9% ). Of these, 37.8% is represented by the 5-11 band (1,213), with an increase of 29.7% compared to the previous week. Among the over 50s, who are more at risk of serious illness, the number of new vaccinates is growing, reaching 861 (+ 34.3% compared to the previous week). In Italy, 6.86 million people over the age of 5 have not received even a dose of the anti-Covid vaccine, of these 4.01 million currently vaccinable (equal to 7% of the audience) with clear regional differences : from 4.1% of the Autonomous Province of Trento to 10.1% of Calabria, to which are added 2.84 million people temporarily protected as they recovered from Covid for less than 180 days (equal to 4.9% of the audience ) with clear regional differences: from 3% in Molise to 10% in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
