Covid Emilia Romagna, today 551 infections and 11 deaths: May 14 bulletin

There are 551 new coronavirus infections in Emilia-Romagna, according to the table of today’s bulletin, May 14. There are also 11 other deaths. Since the start of the Coronavirus epidemic, there have been 378,607 positive cases in the Region, 551 more than yesterday, out of a total of 39,527 swabs performed in the last 24 hours. The total number of swabs also includes 12,915 carried out in the first three days of the week, which due to a technical problem were not registered by the system. The percentage of new positives on the number of swabs made since yesterday is 1.3%. In the meantime, the anti-Covid vaccination campaign continues, which in this phase concerns the health care staff and the Cra, including inpatients of residences for the elderly, most of them already immunized, the over eighty-year-olds in home care and their spouses, if they are 80 or older. years, and people aged 55 and over, while from yesterday it is possible to apply for vaccination for the age group 50-54 (those born from 1967 to 1971 included). At 4 pm a total of 2,095,517 doses were administered; out of the total, 695,098 are second doses, i.e. people who have completed the vaccination cycle. Control and prevention activities continue: of the new infected, 199 are asymptomatic identified in the context of regional contact tracing and screening activities. Overall, among the new positives 213 were already in isolation at the time of the swab execution, 316 were identified within already known foci. The average age of the new positives today is 37.9 years. Of the 199 asymptomatic, 149 were identified thanks to contact tracing, 12 through tests for risk categories introduced by the Region, 8 with serological screening, 4 through pre-admission tests. The epidemiological investigation is still underway for 26 cases. To the 26,725 molecular swabs carried out, for a total of 4,597,538, there are also 12,802 rapid swabs. As for the total number of people healed, they are 455 more than yesterday and reach 338,648. The active cases, that is the actual patients, to date are 26,892 (+85 compared to yesterday). Of these, people in isolation at home, or those with mild symptoms that do not require hospital treatment or are symptom-free, are a total of 25,596 (+151), 95% of the total number of active cases. Unfortunately, there are 11 new deaths. In total, there have been 13,067 victims in the region since the beginning of the epidemic. There are 160 patients admitted to intensive care (-3 compared to yesterday), 1,136 those in the other Covid departments (-63).
