Cardinal Angelo Sodano, former secretary of state and dean emeritus of the College of Cardinals, died. The cardinal, 94, had been infected with Covid. Since the beginning of the pandemic, several cardinals have been infected with the virus. For four of them, recalls the Paravatican site the Seismograph, the outcome was fatal due to their advanced age or precarious health conditions. The cardinals who did not make it, in addition to Sodano, were Eusebio Scheid, Jorge Urosa Savino – Archbishop emeritus of Caracas and José Freire Falcão – Archbishop emeritus of Brasilia.
