Contagions on the rise, index rises to 3%

There are 6,596 new coronavirus infections in Italy today, Wednesday 4 August 2021, according to data – region by region – of the Civil Protection bulletin. Another 21 deaths have been recorded since yesterday, bringing the total deaths since the beginning of the emergency linked to covid-19 to 128,136. In the last 24 hours, 215,748 swabs were performed, the positivity rate is 3.05%. There is an increase in the number of people hospitalized with symptoms that are 2,309 (+113 compared to yesterday), while there are 260 patients in intensive care (+2), with 14 admissions in the last 24 hours.
