Expired drugs and alimony for the elderly: nursing home owner denounced

The owner of a nursing home in the province of Naples was denounced by the carabinieri who discovered elderly people treated with expired drugs in the structure. The food served to the guests had also deteriorated for nearly a year. “A kitchen where genuine meals are freshly prepared”, “a warm and hospitable environment, which makes its elderly feel at home”: these are some points of the claim that advertised on the web the retirement home for the elderly in the municipality of San Vitaliano. But the carabinieri of the station found a completely different situation in the nursing home: in the pantry expired drugs and food whose consumption “preferably by” had exceeded for almost a year. The military discovered, in fact, in the kitchen refrigerators products that had expired even in July 2021. And again, all kinds of drugs, always expired, which were administered to the guests of the structure. The owner of the company that manages the center was denounced for trading or administering damaged medicines and poor food conservation. The activity was suspended and the guests entrusted to family members while medicines and food were seized.
