Hannibal, the North African anticyclone, also brings the summer heat to the Center-South and we will have good weather all next week. Meanwhile, this mid-May weekend will record high temperatures almost like in July but will also present the classic summer instability with thunderstorms in the mountains and locally on the adjacent plains. Thunderstorms will be the only important note to monitor during this summer-flavored weekend with mostly blue skies over the whole of Italy, ideal for going to the beach. In the mountains, on the other hand, especially in the Alps, we will have frequent showers in local descent towards the adjacent plains. In the next few hours we will continue to experience moderate instability on the Triveneto with scattered clouds and local showers, still active during the day on the Alps and Prealps. In the ‘goatherd hours’ as the afternoon hours are defined, short thunderstorms on the Po Valley are again not excluded, more likely close to the hills. The summer context will still offer temperatures locally above 30 ° C in the shade which, combined with the high relative humidity, will cause the first sultry conditions of 2022 in the North. Sunday will see a greater probability of thunderstorms in the afternoon in the Alps, the Prealps, locally the Apennines and marginally on the Piedmontese plain: at times the thunderstorms can be intense due to the heat and the consequent high energy available in play. Mattia Gussoni, meteorologist of the site www.iLMeteo.it, confirms the possibility of thunderstorms during the weekend in the North and in the Apennines, as often happens in the summer. The new week will still see the Taste of Summer or rather the Summer in May: this warm and sunny phase could persist at least until 20-21 May, but we do not exclude that it will continue further. The peak of heat is expected on Tuesday 17 with 30 ° C spread from North to South and values up to 33-34 ° C in the North-West and 32 ° C in the shade also in Rome
