Hot and over 40 degrees in the South, thunderstorms in the North: weather divides Italy

Hot in the South with peaks of 44 degrees, unstable weather in the North with thunderstorms: Italy split in two in the coming days. The team of the site www.ilmeteo.it announces that today a temporary recovery of the subtropical high pressure will guarantee greater atmospheric stability over a large part of the country; some downpours may affect the Alps and could cross over to the plains of Piedmont and Lombardy. Between Tuesday 3 and Friday 6 August the risk of very strong thunderstorms will return to the northern regions, with local hailstorms as far as the plain; on the rest of Italy, on the other hand, the protective shield guaranteed by the anticyclone will hold up and keep the perturbations away (at least in this phase) and for this reason it will still be very hot with thermal values well beyond the climatic averages: pay particular attention to Puglia and to the inland areas of the two major islands, where we expect new flames up to 44 ° C, thanks also to the hot winds of Libeccio and Scirocco. FORECASTS Monday 2 August: in the North, still isolated patchy storms. Center: alternation between clouds and bright spells. In the South, all sun and very hot weather. Tuesday 3 August: in the North, scattered thunderstorms and hail risk, especially in the Northwest. In the Center: good weather prevailing. In the South: alternation between clouds and bright spells in an always hot thermal context. Wednesday 4 August: in the North, intense thunderstorms especially on Piedmont and Lombardy; storm risk. Center: more clouds over the Tyrrhenian regions, sun elsewhere. In the South: ample sunshine.
