Half of Italy in the rain, weather forecast for next week

A major weather change is on its way over the course of next week. From Wednesday 20 April the real rains and a decidedly cool climate will return, with temperatures that could even end below average. Everything will be caused by a Mediterranean cyclone destined to hit more than half of Italy. To understand the reason for this expected turnaround, we need to broaden our gaze to the entire European chessboard. As early as Wednesday 20 April we could witness a sort of atmospheric release: a fresh and unstable flow downhill from the Atlantic could in fact break into the Mediterranean basin, giving rise to a real cyclone. particularly intense, with thunderstorms and hailstorms, alternating perhaps with sunnier pauses: as the map below shows, the Center-South and the two major islands will be at risk above all. To evaluate the dangers that could be caused by so much energy at play and by the strong contrasts that will be created. Nothing to be too surprised about. On the other hand, from a climatic and statistical point of view, these weeks of transition between April and May represent one of the periods in which thunderstorms develop more frequently, especially during the afternoon hours. The disturbed flow will also have a direct effect on temperatures, which they will likely remain below average, particularly in the North, and of course on the wettest regions.
