Girls who died in the cornfield, “with them 5 other people”

There were not only two men with Sara El Jaafari and Hanan Nekhla at dawn last Friday in the fields of Locate Triulzi, in the Milanese area, when an agricultural machinery overwhelmed and killed them. In all, there were seven of them lying among the plants. The 35-year-old man who was traced and heard last night by the Lodi prosecutor, identified together with a 21-year-old, told investigators. The 35-year-old, who is currently under investigation for wrongful death, said he met the two women on the evening of Thursday 1 July and spent the evening and the subsequent night consuming alcohol and drugs, first at the home of an acquaintance and then inside the cornfield. In the countryside, the group had been joined by two men, also Moroccan, and a woman of Romanian nationality. They also continued to drink and consume drugs with them, until, while they were sitting on the ground listening to music, the agricultural vehicle came within walking distance of them. Perhaps dazed by drugs and not very lucid, they were unable to move immediately and the vehicle immediately overwhelmed the two young women, who were closest to its trajectory. The 35-year-old was also injured in the instep of his left foot, but managed to escape and leave the field, without returning or ascertaining the conditions of the others. The investigations to identify and track down all the others are still underway, explain the carabinieri of the provincial command. Of the two Moroccan girls, the younger, Sara, who warned 112 of the incident, perhaps she could have been saved if any of those five had helped the carabinieri find the place of the accident.
