Girls hit and killed in Rome, 5 years and 4 months on appeal for Genovese

Five years and four months for Pietro Genovese on trial on multiple road homicide charges for the accident that took place on the night between 21 and 22 December 2019 in Corso Francia in Rome, which cost the lives of two sixteen-year-old students Gaia Von Freymann and Camilla Romagnoli. The Court of Assizes of Appeal of Rome accepted the request for an arrangement proposed by the defense of the young man, son of the director Paolo Genovese, and which had the consent of the Attorney General. With the agreement, therefore, the judicial affair is closed and the penalty becomes definitive. In the first instance, last December 19, the young man was sentenced with an abbreviated rite by the gup Gaspare Sturzo to 8 years, while the prosecution with the prosecutor Roberto Felici had asked for 5 years for him.
