Crisanti: “Me in politics? Only if I could do better than others”

“If I would ever accept the proposal to enter politics? I don’t know, I haven’t thought about it yet. I don’t exclude 100% the possibility of a commitment in this sense. But I would only stroke it if I convinced myself that I can do better than what it is. been done so far. Only if it were a way to do something for the country “. Virologist Andrea Crisanti defines himself as an “idealist” and when asked whether or not there is the possibility that something convinces him to make the great leap from virology to politics he does not oppose a sharp no. Certainly not even a yes, but he admits openness to reflection, to evaluate it, he explains to Adnkronos Salute. Recent proposals from any party or movement? “No – the director of the Department of Molecular Medicine of the University of Padua hastens to specify – In the past I was courted”, he admits and truncates the argument. “After the villa of the ‘600 we do not mount another case, we can’t stand it anymore – adds Crisanti – I am only sincere. I cannot say a priori that I would never have anything to do with politics. I have always been interested in politics. , since I was a kid, so imagine. What I have is an idealistic relationship. But maybe I’m not suitable for politics – he smiles – We’ll see “. After all, in the past the virologist, when asked if he was a leftist, had told on TV that he had played in extra-parliamentary groups as a young man.
