Covid Abruzzo, family cluster with 11 positives in Lanciano: Delta variant ascertained

High alert in Lanciano for a Covid-19 cluster immediately traced and isolated. 11 people linked by family ties or close relationships are positive to the swab. Only for 6 of them it was possible to proceed with the sequencing of the sample, which ascertained the contagion from the Delta variant, very likely common to the other members of the three families. The cases – reports a note from the Asl Lanciano Vasto Chieti – were discovered upon returning from a trip of two sisters to a country not in the Schengen area, subjected to mandatory swab and quarantine once they returned to Italy. Having ascertained the positivity, the Prevention Department of the ASL, led by Giuseppe Torzi, immediately triggered the epidemiological investigation with the isolation of close contacts, also subjected to swabs.
