There are 161 cases of the English variant of the covid and 59 those of the Indian variant, better known as the Delta variant, which emerged in the last week in Campania from the analysis of 275 samples of subjects tested positive for Covid-19 with molecular swab. The swabs were analyzed as part of the weekly sequencing activities envisaged by the genomic surveillance plan of the Campania Region, conducted by the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of the South, by the Cotugno hospital belonging to the Dei Colli hospital and by Tigem. Investigations on 275 positive swabs revealed the presence of 161 English variants, 59 Indian variants, 50 Brazilian variants, 3 Nigerian variants, a Colombian variant and a European variant. Further epidemiological investigations are underway and on the vaccination status of the subjects examined.
