The second jockey who on Sunday 13 February took part in the horse race in the industrial area of Brancaccio, in Palermo, was identified by the carabinieri and reported for mistreatment of animals and clandestine competitions. The two horses that challenged each other were ‘escorted’ by a carousel of dozens of boys aboard motorcycles and scooters. In an illegal stable, in Ciaculli, the military also found one of the horses used for the clandestine race. The stable manager will have to answer for numerous administrative violations for a total value of several thousand euros.
